A New Year and More Great Progress at Benthall Grange

We are delighted to share with you a brief update on recent progress and milestones hit at the Benthall Grange development.

Works are continuing on the river bridge

With the river bridge now fully open to the public, there’s one more small piece of finishing work to come which is the extension to the safety rail which will take place over the next few weeks. Access across the bridge will remain open while this work is completed.

Road, footpath and cycleways into the parkland

Contractors Newline Civils have completed works to the road leading to the new parkland on site, including the widening of the road and construction of a new footpath and cycleway. This progress brings us one step closer to opening the newly built car park to the public, which will make visiting the parkland much easier.

New traffic light junction on Much Wenlock Road junction complete

The new traffic light junction on Much Wenlock Road has also been completed. This will allow traffic, and in particular heavy construction vehicles, a more efficient route into the site. Please be aware that lighter traffic will continue to access the site via the River Bridge from Buildwas Road.

Removal of former power station material

You may have seen ongoing works around site to remove materials from the former power station, an important step in preparing the land for future use. This waste material is being responsibly disposed of for reuse in the manufacture of cement and building blocks.

Remediation of Phase 3

All of the former foundations for the Ironbridge ‘A’ Station have now been removed from the ground in areas planned for future homes. Where possible, materials are being reused on site and in turn reducing the number of vehicle movements into and out of the area.
